Tents
Lets face it, the most important item you will buy for camping is the tent. If it's too small, your family will go crazy. If it leaks, it may be your last trip. I have compiled some
hints about buying, maintaining and using tents
. Take a look, and keep coming back as I will be trying some new items (like a three room tent) pretty soon.
Portable Camping Grills
You can go out and buy a Cooking Stove because that’s what everybody else has...or you can go to Wal-Mart and buy a portable propane grill. Both of them work great, but you'll spend a lot less for a little propane grill.
Here's my grill and some other hints!
Camping Kitchens
When we first started cooking when we got to the campsite we would haul out the cooler, grab the grill, start cooking, grab paper plates, utensils, condiments…boy did it get messy. Then we bought Colman’s Packaway™ Kitchen and things got a lot neater!
I’ve seen a lot of other real nice camping kitchens, all of them with great features.
Take a look at what, in my opinion, are the items to look for when purchasing a kitchen.
Air Mattresses, sleeping bags, fans and lights!
We used various air mattresses from all the big names, you know the ones that come with that little hand held pump that always seems to fall apart or need batteries. My wife came across a great mattress. This mattress comes with a rechargeable pump unit that can be used to blow it up, or deflate it in no time. The pump unit slides into a connection assembly in the mattress and can stay there or be removed. The pump even works on our old mattresses (better then the pumps they came with!).
