Camping recipes with ham!
“Foil the Pig”
Camping recipes that use precooked food, like ham are great. We’re all very busy these days so grocery store chains have jumped on the bandwagon by offering a multitude of prepared foods. Taking advantage of this convenience fits right in to our approach of keeping things simple!
For this foil recipe we grab a package of ham, already diced and packed. You can add potatoes, onions and/or carrots (some stores even carry these items already diced and packaged!) Toss the brown sugar into a small plastic “baggie” so you don’t have to take the box with you and finally bring a can of pineapple (any style and size will do).
Place the ingredients (ham, potatoes, pineapples, veggies, brown sugar) on the heavy duty foil. Pour some of the pineapple juice that is left in the can over the ingredients. Fold up that foil, place on the coals/grill for about 20 minutes, flipping the foil packet every 5 minutes.
Ingredients:
Ham
Potatoes
Canned Pineapples
Sliced or diced Carrots
Sliced or diced Onions
1-2 tsp. Brown Sugar
