Camping recipes and other helpful food hints.

I love camping, I love the smell of the food cooking and the aromas floating in the breeze. But boy do I hate cleaning up! I don't, and I'm sure you don't want to spend a lot of time cleaning when we could be playing with the kids, canoeing, fishing, swimming or just relaxing...you get it...we didn't come here to do dishes!

So as I always say..."Keep It Simple"! Let's start with the simple concept of cooking with foil, foil, and more foil. There are so many great recipes that you can make and cook in foil. Lets start with the first meal of the day, with a simple breakfast recipe. Here is one of our families favorite recipes. We call this one " "Eggcellent” Foil Breakfast.

We love fishing, and nothing is better then cooking up that catch! Using foil makes this so easy. This family favorite camping recipe is named " Fins in Foil ".

My kid's really love this one! It turns the portable grill into a pizza oven. It's a simple and delicious recipe for Grilled Pizza.

Here is one more quick, simple and tasty foil recipe. We call this one “Foil the Pig”

We also...well...cheat a little...We bought a 4.5cu refrigerator that plugs into our SUV or an outlet (if the campsite provides one and a lot of them do!) We just keep the meat and cheese in it. I told you, let's keep it simple and this sure counts. I'll get back with you later about some other great gadgets that make the weekend even better (Margarita's anyone!)

We also bring a small propane grill with us to cook on.
