Long Point Park Campground, Sebastian Inlet
Sebastian Intel, what a great little find! We camped right by water’s edge in one of the most beautiful locations in Central Florida.
Our tent site was 20 feet from the water. You could hear the water lapping at the shore as you went to sleep. In the morning we woke to the sound of fish jumping out of the water as the various birds flew overhead.
We went for an early morning canoe run, and our friends headed out on their kayak. This place is alive with activity…including a wonderful encounter with a dolphin! The kids thought this was the greatest thing.
As we lay in bed on Saturday night we were treated to a nice surprise, NASA launched an ATLAS rocket. It was the brightest thing we had ever seen. The kids (and there were tons of them here) were running around late into the night.
The campground has a bridge that attaches to Scout Island. The kids spent most of the day playing over there (watch out for cactus!) My younger son and I spent several hours on various activities like; fishing, playground, biking, and kite flying, and yes, just sitting and talking.
We will be adding this location to our annual list of sites to visit. This site is maintained solely by the funds that they get from folks like you and me. So take a look at their web site and plan a stay, the site is
